In May 2025, the morning of my first gig which I was supporting icon Michy Tree, I got an email whilst waiting at the train station. I just booked a headline gig later that September and haven’t even finished my debut gig yet, nor has my EP released! I was over the moon.
So, once the day come I was indeed nervous. I drove with my dad and boyfriend up past the venue since I was parking on someones drive for the night. I didn’t want to get the tube since I was lugging a suitcase, guitar and merchandise boxes with me, I was also going home with my mum that night.
We arrived about four or five to do a soundcheck but whilst waiting for Akin, who played guitar for me and set up the tech stuff, and Kera, who played drums for me, I set up the merch desk. I’m super into making things cute of course so I decorated the table with a cute blanket and fairy lights.
I made a trip to the shop about an hour or two before doors opened and I glanced over at the queue. I almost shed a tear at the people already in the queue. Shockingly enough, I’m quite shy so didn’t say hi but know I saw you
We sound checked Sour Sweetness once the band arrived and went into the greenroom whilst the other two bands did their soundcheck. It’s so tiny in there, especially with three bands and crew. I did my hair, since it was in curlers, and touched up my makeup from the morning. I was still in my pyjamas until the second support was about to play.
We did some more pics with Meg whilst Grey was on the merch desk for me, I also run out of polaroids so took more just before going on stage.
